Trey Triathlons

This fall I signed up for and competed in three sprint distance triathlons.  I started out with the Kokopeli Tri at Sand Hollow reservoir (with Angie & Rebecca) and then completed the Summit Gym Tri (with Sheri) followed by the Senior Games Triathlon this past weekend.  I was motivated by the companionship of my daughters and also by my upcoming trip to the Himalayas.  My best performance was at the Senior Games, but I still only placed 6th in my division.  I just am not that great at racing compared to those who seem to have a certain capacity for aerobic performance.  I have known that since I tried to compete on my junior high track team back in 1973.  Today I also participated in the cross country mountain bike race for the Senior Games.  Same results.  Placed 6th. Well at least I am steady and predictable.  Ha ha.  This past week was also a great event in our family.  Our 9th grandchild was born to Marty & Hailey.  Logan Harvey Larsen is a healthy big newborn and a welcomed grandson to the Larsen clan.  His twin brother, Colten & Carter have been surprisingly  good around him so far.  I am less than three weeks away from my trip to climb a mountain named "Baruntse" in the heart of the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal.  I am beginning to gather my gear and prepare for the month long trip.
